Gale Virtual Reference Library or Electronic Books are better known as "Ebooks". These are online versions of all of the old-fashioned, but reliable, books that we own in the library. We have over 600 of them! They can be accessed from any computer and you can take the individual article that you are interested in and either read it there on the computer or email it to yourself for later reading (or even print it out, which we are trying to discourage).

The Gale group prints some of the best published reference books available today, much more reliable than some obscure website that you might find on Google--that may be gone tomorrow. Even if it takes a little longer to find what you are looking for, the results will be well worth the time.
Use this website if you need a biography for a research paper or just for your own curiosity. You can read it online and take notes, or print it out for later reading.

This along with "Opposing Viewpoints" (below) are the two most used websites in the LAUSD Digital Library's Subscription Websites. "Subscription" means that the District has spent money to provide it, and it cannot be accessed on any computer that is outside the LAUSD network.

Use the Hennepin County Library teen book reviews to find a good book to read.
